Summary

I recently dove into some of the best slots sites to find spine-tingling slot games and stumbled upon a title from Nolimit City that truly caught my attention. As a horror enthusiast, I was immediately drawn to their game set in a horror hospital. With a unique grid layout of 5 reels and a 256 payline structure, not to mention the high volatility and an RTP of 96.10%.

The creativity shines through in the Free Spins rounds, dubbed Pre-op Spins and Annihilation Spins. If you're curious about this eerily engaging game, you won't want to miss my detailed Disturbed slots review.

100 Spins Test

This 100 Spin test was updated by Steve Madgwick on 16/08/2023

100 spins is not a Real Test

We give every slot a 100 spin test to see just what it can do, or not as the case can often be - 100 spins is no reflection of the likelihood of any other 100-spin session, as RTP's are set over many millions and probably billions of spins. So this 100 spin test is just for entertainment and insight purposes

Test Comments

I love it when a new NoLimit City slot is released; they are my favourite studio, although I have to admit to this not being one of my favourites of late.

The 100 spins produced a remarkably high win frequency with 42 winning spins form the 100, and despite hitting the bonus round on only the 6th Spin, it returned a poor 3.75x.

Thank goodness, then for a couple of good base game wins coming from the nudging multiplier, which produced a top base game return of 24x among others.

Finally, the 100 spins finished with a positive balance, and a 104.6% session RTP, very nice for NLC

Game Data

The leading man of this morbid slots story is Doctor Daniel Eath (AKA Doctor Death) who has gone rogue and is carrying out bloodcurdling experiments. Join him (if you dare!) on this journey through the floors of this twisted, chaotic hospital.

In addition to the free spins, there’s a top feature called Enhancer Reels. Here, each spin can light up to four Enhancer Cells on the grid. When they are lit up one of four features will trigger on the reels. Features include Wilds and respins.

Now that the summary and intro have been covered let’s get into the full details of the Disturbed release. Let’s goooooo.

Graphics, Music, and Sound Effects

The second you start playing, the story grabs you with both hands The graphics are top-notch and extraordinarily creative. This game definitely paints a picture and it’s one with grim one with many twists and turns.

The reels include Dr Death’s victims (sorry, patients) and bloodied medical gear which is pretty yucky but in a good way. The background image is of a rundown, disturbing hospital that you'd never want to set foot in.

The base game music reminded us of a few horror films we’ve watched in years gone by. During the fast-paced bonus round, they up the tempo and heavy metal bursts out of your speaker. The scene is filled with blood splatters and creepy sound effects.

Key Features

When we write our OLBG slot reviews we start with the summary, intro, graphics, music, and sound effects. We then continue with the key game features which are up next. Once you’ve read this you can decide if Disturbed is for you or not.

The slot games reviews we share on OLBG include up-to-date info about essential features such as theme, paylines, reels, bet range, and bonuses. Don't go anywhere as you don't want to miss our player experience and expert verdict towards the end of the review.

Theme – Horror

The slot game has a strong horror theme which kicks off from the word go. The star of the show is Doctor Death whose story you’ll discover as you travel around his hospital playing the bonus rounds. There are some quirky and ghoulish graphics showing his journey from medicine to madness.

The paytable is easy to understand if you need to check anything. At the top, we have the main man himself, Doctor Death whose value is 10x. Next up we have Mr Facelift, Ms Happ (love the name!), a bin of hospital waste, a medical blood bag, a first aid box, a kidney dish, a surgical drill, a bloodied scalpel and a stethoscope. Values range from 10x right down to 0.25x for these basic symbols.

As you can imagine there are a range of frightening special symbols for this game. First up we have the Mrs Nudge Symbol which is a body bag with an arm poking out of it, eww. Then we have Mr. Split who gets cut when he shows up on the reels. There is also a stacked multiplier Wild, a standard Wild and Scatter Symbols which are represented by bloodied hospital ID cards. Wow, we’ve never typed the word blood so many times in a slots review.

Reels

The Disturbed slot game has 5 reels and for its rows, it has a 4-2-4-2-4 setup. The reels include 4 Enhancer Cells at both the top and bottom rows of reels 2 and 4 which look like tv screens with blood splatters on them.

Paylines

The amount of paylines is a definite thumbs up for this game as it’s an impressive 256 which is a significant amount when compared to other games on the market.

RTP

Return To Player or RTP as you've probably seen it written on slot sites is the predicted amount of stakes returned to players. It’s always a percentage figure and usually comes in somewhere between 94% and 96%. The Disturbed RTP exceeds the average at 96.10%.

Nolimit City also offer lower RTP rates so you can check with various operators which RTP they are using. We've taken a look and identified a few different percentages in some of the UK online casinos and added these sites to our table below.

However, there’s more than RTP to think about when deciding where to play. It’s worth looking at payment options, game library, customer support, welcome bonuses and deals and mobile optimisations. Our casino reviews analyse these things and much more for you.

Most players like to try more than one game, if you fall into this category we’ve created a page with the slot sites we recommend. These websites feature hundreds of titles that you can play straight away if you're in the UK.

Stake Range

There’s a decent bet range that starts at £0.20 and goes up to £100 for the Disturbed slot game.

Max Win

If big wins are an important part of your quest for finding a great slot game you should be happy with this game’s max win amount. It’s 54,391x your total stake for the Disturbed slot game.

Wild Shape

The standard Wild Symbol is represented by a medicine bottle. There’s also the Mrs Nudge Symbol which is a stacked multiplier Wild. This symbol always appears on reel 3 and will nudge up or down until it is 100% visible. Each movement up or down increases its multiplier by 1 which adds an exciting element to the player experience.

Free Spins

There are two exciting free spins rounds for the Disturbed game. Pre-op spins are triggered when you land 3 Scatter Symbols. You can activate up to 20 free spins depending on how many pop up. The amounts for these are 3 scatters = 12 spins, 4 scatters = 15 scatters and 5 scatters = 20 spins. During the Pre-Op Spins 1 Enhancer Cell will always be lit up. If you land the Executioner Scatter Symbol during this round it will upgrade you to the Annihilation Spins and award you 3 extra spins which is pretty good going.

The Top free spins round is called Annihilation Spins. You enter the spins by landing 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols and by having all of your 4 Enhancer Cells lit up. Again spins are dependent on how many Scatter Symbols you trigger. These are the amounts available, 3 Scatters = 12 spins, 4 Scatters = 15 spins and 5 Scatters = 20 spins.

Jackpot

There’s not a jackpot within the Disturbed slot game as most modern slot games don't have this feature. However, with the max win of 54,391 x your stake, this is a decent amount to win.

If you’re interested in playing games with jackpot releases you’ll want to visit our page with the best jackpot slot games.

Play Experience & First Impressions

The game had us from the word go. The story builds up as you make your way through the bleak hospital wards. The stomach-churning graphics and eerie music plus the exciting bonus rounds make this a great gaming experience.

Expert Verdict

Wow, just wow. This game is so different, it really is a great storytelling piece. During the annihilation round there are flashes of the story of Dr Deaths' journey from student to psycho. We loved the heavy metal music during this round too. The main character Dr Death did a good job of giving us the heebie-jeebies. Nolimit City’s Disturbed slot game is certainly something bit different.

Disturbed is instantly recognisable as a Nolimit game, they have such a strong brand. There’s not a rainbow or cuddly animal in sight which is great when you’re in the mood for something a bit grittier.

There are heaps of potential to win, especially as it has very high volatility. The max win is a big attraction to the game as recently we've reviewed games with much lower amounts.

Disturbed is packed with top features which is what it's all about at the end of the day isn't it? Mrs Nudge was great and did trigger several times when we played. We're fans of stacked Wilds as they cover so much more of the grid which means more chances to win.

Enhancer Cells were another goodie. Here certain spots on the grid are lit up and each of them triggers a special feature. These 4 spots look like bloodied screens on the grid. Each time you spin there is the possibility of lighting up to 4 Enhancer Cells. The Enhancer Cells have different features and include Xfeatures. Xfeatures are registered game mechanics that Nolimit are well-known for in the industry. When lit up the following features can occur:

  • XWays - a random position will become xWays. This means when triggered it can be transformed into any symbol.

  • xSplit - Mr Split is a Wild Symbol. If a random symbol on reel 3 turns into Mr Split it converts all symbols into itself.

  • Disturber - this feature activates a respin.

  • Gravestones - Landing 4 gravestones may trigger the Angel of Death.

If you land 4 lit Gravestone Symbols while also getting a stacked Dr Death Symbol on reel 3. This will trigger the Angel of Death, which directly leads to Six Feet Under. When you get to Six Feet Under this will trigger the max payout of 54,391x your base bet. If your total win exceeds this amount, the game round will end and you’ll win the max bet. Wouldnt we all like to see that?

We’d 100% recommend this game, we loved playing it. It looked great and had the features to back up the strong and dramatic story. Although maybe avoid it if you’re scared of blood!
