Mark Robins is now the 4/6 favourite to take over at Hull City

Former Coventry manager Mark Robins is the odds-on favourite to be the next Hull City manager with betting sites already offering odds on who will take over at the MKM Stadium next.

Hull sacked manager Tim Walter on Wednesday after just 18 games in charge and will be looking for a quick replacement to get their season back on track.

Tuesday night saw the Tigers beaten 2-0 by Sheffield Wednesday taking their winless run to nine matches and seeing them remain in the relegation places in the Championship table.

BetVictor now make Mark Robins the 4/6 favourite to become the next Hull manager with the former Coventry boss without a club since he was controversially sacked by the Sky Blues recently.

Tim Walter was sacked as Hull manager on Wednesday

With just three wins in his 18 competitive games in charge of Hull City, the board decided to sack Walter from the managerial position on Wednesday afternoon.

Hull owner Acun Ilicali said on Tuesday that Walter would remain as manager no matter the result against Sheffield Wednesday but that statement was proven to be false on Wednesday.

"If we lose tonight, he's going to be in the job," Ilicali told the BBC 24 hours before the sacking of Walter.
