After a premiere show in 2012, CGT wasn;t renewed until 2022 but fans of the show are pleased to know a third series is planned for the spring of 2023, with auditions taking place over the fall and winter.
Season 2 came out in 2022 and was a huge success and features a plethora of interesting acts. GRVMENT was a dancing group from Vancouver, British Columbia that turned heads, and Alberta-based comedian Ola Dada was another fan-favourite. Season 2 revived Canada’s love for the show, with Jeanick Fournier receiving the most votes and winning it all.
What is Betting on Canada’s Got Talent
You can bet on Canada's got Talent with some sportsbooks, across various markets. Bear in mind this is a pre-recorded show up to a point, so markets where the result would already be known would not be readily available.
Canada’s Got Talent Betting Markets
As you would find in traditional sports betting, you can choose from a few different betting markets with Canada’s Got Talent. You aren’t limited to simply betting on who’s going to win the show, although that will likely be the most popular betting market with the largest volume of bets.
Show Champion
This market is where you’ll attempt to guess who’s going to win the entire show, and it’s also where the most money can be made. Season 1 crowned Sagkeeng’s Finest as the champion, who are an indigenous dance troupe from Manitoba; Season 2 went to Jeanick Fournier, a singer from Saguenay, Quebec.
Whether it’s a dance crew or an individual singer, it doesn’t matter what the act itself is. As long as they’re Canadian-born and talented, they have a shot at becoming the Show Champion.
Contestant To Reach the Final
Don’t feel like trying to guess the overall winner? If you’re looking for a little bit of insurance in case your pick loses at the last stage, you can bet on a contestant to make it to the final episode of the show.
Your wagers’ payout won’t be as juicy but you get a bit of wiggle room by betting on who’s going to reach the Finals, as opposed to going for the hail mary by guessing the winner.
GVRMNT reached the final in 2022
Next Elimination
If you like following the show throughout the entire season, you can bet on who’s going to be eliminated next. Competitors are eliminated in a series of stages, so you can place bets after every episode with this betting market.
The key to this betting market is being able to read how the judges feel about each act. If you think you’ve got a feel for what the judges want, then this betting market may be a favourite of yours.

How to Bet on Canada’s Got Talent
Much like you would do for NBA or NFL betting, you can sign up for an online sportsbook to bet on Canada’s Got Talent.
You may have to look around and find Entertainment and TV betting section or Special bets within the menu as of course, these stand outside normal sports betting which is most commonly found.
Things to Consider When Betting on Canada’s Got Talent
If you aren’t sure what or who you should be betting on, no need to panic. Betting on sports is tough, but that doesn’t mean betting on Canada’s Got Talent is any easier – watching the show and doing your due diligence is a must.
Check out some of the tips we’ve put together below, as they can help you get an idea of what to look for before placing any bets.
Skills/Talent
Skilled competitors are always going to stand out from the rest of the crowd, and if you’ve watched Season 1 or 2, you know that already. Visually appealing and impressive acts are the type that do well on this show.
A couple of examples from past seasons include the Renegades who didn’t win Season 2, but they were a worthy dance crew that kept things interesting. Savio Joseph also blessed audiences with his unique magic in the same season.
What we’re trying to say is that it doesn’t necessarily matter what the act is doing, so long as they have the talent to back it up, audience popularity, and rather cynically, the question 'Can they make the show producers more money?' has to be asked.
Remember this is a TV Show first - Talent Show Second!
Often we find the most entertaining, or skilled performers do not finish high in the voting results - The final show is designed to be an entertainment show for millions of viewers, so 10 great singers, or magicians wont make a good variety show - Arguably, sometimes the best acts will be eliminated for a less skilled, alternative act for a talking point
Stage Experience
Anybody who’s on the show that hasn’t been on stage or in front of bright lights before will have the potential to “freeze up”. Even if they seem like the most talented person in Canada, if they haven’t done it on the big stage before, there’s a chance of stage fright.
If an act has limited ability in terms of, what they did in the audition was great, but is there any room for expanding those skills into a 3-7 minute section on the live shows, they could be prone to elimination.
Remember, the final show is produced for all round entertainment, so, don't expect it to consist of all the best acts, but a combination of various skills and styles to produce a show for TV
