Bachelor Format

  • A single male has to choose a wife from a pool of around 30 female contestants over the course of 10 weeks.
  • In a series of one on ones and group meetings he presents a rose to those he wishes to keep in the show, this eliminates females that he does not feel are “wife material”.
  • As the program progresses he narrows down the women to four possible winners. He visits their home town and families and then one further woman is eliminated.
  • The final three and the Bachelor then go on a further series of dates in an exotic location, at the Rose Ceremony 3 becomes 2.
  • In the final episode, one woman exits and is sent home and the Bachelor presents the final rose.
  • If he wishes he can propose, however not all Bachelors do.

What is Bachelor Betting?

As the series has grown in popularity the best betting sites have started to offer Bachelor Odds.

Average Age

31 is the average age of the bachelor taking part in the ABC reality series, the average age of the female contestants is 26.

Bachelor Markets

Winner

  • The thirty girls will all be endeavouring to catch the bachelor's eye.
  • The way the programme is edited can have an effect on which of them feature the most.
  • If a girl is seen as a trouble maker or instant wife material the odds will fluctuate wildly.
  • The sportsbooks like us will be watching the series and it may be a race to take the best odds, remember to shop around for the keenest of prices in your state.
  • Always watch the previews to see which girls feature heavily in the promos, it is likely they will do well.

Weekly Elimination

  • If the Bachelor does not give a rose to a specific girl at the end of each programme, that girl will be going home.
  • Girls that have gone under the radar and you have not seen much of them are always vulnerable to not receiving a rose.

Proposition Bets

The sportsbooks and ourselves love these proposition bets as they will not be related to the final outcome, and gives us an instant interest.

You may see:

  • Will The Bachelor Choose a specific girl in week 1
  • Will the Bachelor propose at the end of the series?
  • Which State will the winner come from?
  • Will a previous contestant get a proposal?
  • Will a girl in the Bachelor be chosen as the Bachelorette for next season?

Bachelor Viewing Figures

The early series (1,2,3) of the dating show were the most popular. Currently, the Bachelor gets around 5 million Americans tuning in.

The Proposal

  • Once the Bachelor has selected his partner he has the option to propose to her, it makes sense having chosen who he considers ideal for him.
  • However, not all Bachelors do propose, some just continue the relationship once the filming has stopped.
  • There have been 15 proposals out of a possible 26.
  • Only one couple from the series have stayed together for a period of time.
  • In season 17 (2013) Sean Lowe chose Catherine Guidici and proposed to her, they married a year later and now have three children.
  • We also saw a female runner-up in Season 13 (2009) Molly Maleney get together with the Bachelor (Jason Mesnick) after the show, the couple married in 2010.
  • The last two series of the Bachelor (Seasons 25, and 26) saw no proposal, however, as of June 2022, both couples are said to still be together.
