Collapse

When 8 or more matching symbols appear anywhere on the grid, the Collapse feature comes into play. Winning symbols are removed with new symbols dropping in to replace them. A 2x multiplier is then applied to each position where a winning symbol was removed. If another win lands, the process repeats itself with the multiplier doubling up to a maximum of 8,192x.

xWays & Infectious xWays

Look out for xWays symbols as these transform into regular paying symbols and increase the position multiplier by 2, 4 or 8 times. Then the revealed xWays symbol infects all instances of the same symbols to expand to the same size. If multiple xWays or Infectious xWays symbols appear on the grid, all symbols transform into the same symbol.

Bomb

There is a gas canister Bomb symbol which removes adjacent regular paying symbols in a 3x3 formation/pattern. Furthermore, the symbol multiplier is doubled on positions affected by the Bomb. With Bonus and Wild symbols unaffected by the explosion, all Bombs explode before the next collapse.

Duck Hunt Spins

When you land 3 Bonus Hunting Bonus symbols anywhere, you’ll trigger the Duck Hunt Spins feature with 7 free spins. Position multipliers do not reset during the feature. Look out for Extra +1 Shot symbols as these reward you with 1 extra free spin.

Set in redneck America, the Duck Hunters slot is all about collapses and symbol multiplier positions which double each time a winning symbol lands on that position. Increasing up to 8,192x, it reminds me of the Multiplier Spots feature from Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush slot (which can reach 128x).

Nolimit City has taken things much further with the addition of the xWays symbol which doubles symbol multiplier positions. Infectious xWays symbols infect and double all instances of the winning symbol too. The Bomb symbol also doubles the positions affected by doubling the multiplier yet again.

With 3 free spins features, you’ll benefit from 1, 2 or 3 upgrades which see xWays replaced with Infectious xWays, Bombs that explode a larger area and additional free spins. I found the Infectious xWays and extra free spins to be the most lucrative with all 3 in play during the Big Game Spins feature.

If you have the funds, the Nolimit Booster options are worth investigating. Beginning with high symbol multiplier positions will increase your chances of landing big wins with the Day 1,024 Spins option costing 3,000 times your total bet: ouch!

Like in Sugar Rush, the symbol multiplier positions don’t reset during the free spins which increases your chances of landing big wins. With 30,000 times bet max wins, it blows Sugar Rush’s 5,000 times bet max win potential out of the water.

Pragmatic Play has since released Sugar Rush 1000 which offers 25,000 times bet max wins: still lower than Duck Hunters. The max win probability is 1 in 12.8 million spins compared to 1 in 22 million for Duck Hunters.

In summary, the Duck Hunters slot owes a little to Pragmatic Play but Nolimit City has added so much to the concept with Scatter Pays, xWays and Infectious xWays, higher symbol position multipliers and 3 free spins features with upgrades. Plus, rednecks are much cooler than sweets and chocolates.
