Devil’s Finger Slot (Shady Lady)

The Devil’s Finger slot has 6 reels, 4 rows and 4,096 ways to win initially. Winning combinations are formed when 3, 4, 5 or 6 matching symbols appear from left to right (on adjacent reels) starting from the leftmost reel, and on any reel position. Only the highest payout per way to win is awarded naturally.

In terms of bet options, you can play from as little as 10p per spin. The maximum bet is £50 a spin. Use the plus and minus arrows to adjust your bet. With a horror theme, the Devil’s Finger slot is the first release from Shady Lady. You join a die-hard cosplay nerd called Cosmo who gets sucked into a parallel dimension where he casts spells and battles mythical creatures in the forest.

Described by Shady Lady as a “chaotic mix of dark humour, magic, and madness”, the graphics and animations are superb. With so much detail, the pipe organ soundtrack is eerie and adds to the triumphant nature of Cosmo’s challenge against the Devil. Visually, it reminds me a little of Print Studios’ Tarasque mixed in with Nolimit City’s Book of Shadows.

With the reels set inside an Iron Maiden (a Medieval torture device), the symbols include 5 different Satanic symbols as well as 4 characters who are all controlled by the Devil himself. The Priest symbol is the highest-paying rewarding you with 0.5, 1, 1.5 or 2 times your total bet for 3, 4, 5 or 6 in combination.

Devil’s Finger also benefits from a Dragon Wild symbol (depicted by a winged black cat) that substitutes for all paying symbols above. Other special symbols include Cosmo, the Devil and Spell bottles (more on these below).

Cosmo

Cosmo emerges from his hideaway and blows the summoning horn. In turn, between 1 and 5 Dragon Wilds are added randomly to the reels.

Devil 

The Devil feature is triggered when a Devil symbol lands on reel 6 (i.e. the rightmost reel) with no Cosmo symbol on reel 1 (i.e. the leftmost reel).

Then the Devil emerges from his hideaway to reward you with 1 re-spin. During the re-spin, 2 locked rows are opened which gives you 10,000 ways to win.

Devil Fingers & Column Multipliers

Below reels 2, 3, 4 and 5, Devil’s Fingers will appear. Each finger can move upwards from the bottom to cover up to 5 rows. With symbols under the fingers not forming winning combinations, the column multiplier increases every time a finger moves up (i.e. steps 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 will have a 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x or 6x multiplier). On the other hand, each step the Devil’s Finger moves up, the less ways to win.

Free Spins

The Devil’s Finger slot comes with a Free Spins feature which is triggered when both the Cosmo symbol lands on reel 1 and the Devil symbol lands on reel 6. With 7 free spins awarded, the 2 locked rows are open for 10,000 ways to win.

After the first free spin, a random finger will move up 1 step on the grid during each free spin which increases its multiplier by 1. Look out for Spell Bottle symbols landing on reels 1 and 6 which grant 1 of 5 spells:

• Bonus Buy: buy your way directly into the Free Spins feature for 100 times your total bet.

Look out for the Devil’s fingers as these move upwards with the respective column multiplier increasing up to 6x. More fingers mean more multipliers but less ways to win.

In the Free Spins feature, the Devil’s feature is prominent but Shady Lady has added in 5 spells. These spells reward you with more free spins, finger segment removals, extra Dragon Wilds, finger removals and multiplier upgrades.

For non-UK players, there are traditional Bonus Boost and Bonus Buy options. The Highlight Reels see you win the best 3 spins from a batch of 100, 300 or 500 spins: thus reminding me a little of the ‘Best of’ feature found in some Hacksaw Gaming slots.  With the Loot Boxes, you will get 1 of 3 versions of Bronze, Silver and Gold Enhanced Bonuses. The higher the value of the Enhanced Bonuses, the higher your win potential.
