Theme – Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland was written over 150 years ago but its appeal still shows no signs of slowing down so it’s a great fit for a slot game. In fact, there have been many slot games with settings linked to this fantastic story.
The star of the show is not Alice herself, in fact, she doesn't appear anywhere in the game. The face of the game is the delightful White Rabbit who comes suited and booted in a snazzy dinner jacket with aces, kings, queens and spades printed on it.
The caterpillar also makes an appearance as a rather eccentric-looking dude with shades and a tropical shirt and matching who blows Walter Wilds bubbles onto the reels to turn symbols into Wilds.
The reels include imagery of various well-known Wonderland characters. In order of value, they are the Queen of Hearts, Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, a crown, Dodo, a teapot, a top hat and a cupcake.
You’ll also find a Wilds Symbol and a Power Glyph symbol which shows a clock. When there is a win with 3 or more higher paying symbols this will spawn a Power Glyph. These trigger the Power-Up feature and can act as Wilds.
You’ll see a Power-Up Stack image which shows the Power Glyph pointing to a selection of different-coloured balls. This feature will be explained further in the review but the name of the balls are the Walter Wilds which is the gold ‘W’ and the Queen's Guard which is depicted by the red heart. A Different Reality is the purple Cheshire Cat and Switch Places is represented by the blue ball with a cup of tea inside it.
You’ll see a Wonderspins icon on the screen which is a way of taking a shortcut to the Free Spins bonus round. By paying 60x the current bet you’ll get instant access to the Free Spins.
Reels
This is another game with the popular 5-reel format. The wonderland slot also has 5 rows per reel.
Paylines
The Adventures Beyond Wonderland Magical Maze slot game is a cluster pays game. This means that rather than landing a line on the grid to win. You must match symbols horizontally or vertically in a cluster on the grid, there must be 3 or more matching symbols.
RTP
Return to Player or RTP as you’ve probably seen it written on slot sites is a projected percentage of players’ stakes returned to them in the long run. It’s usually between 94% and 96%. The Wonderland Magical Maze game is at the higher range of this scale. However, some sites may use a different RTP as there are options available for RTPs of 94% and 87% available to operators.
Here at OLBG we’ve identified a few different percentages in a selection of UK online casinos and added these sites to the table below.
It’s worth pointing out that there’s more than RTP to think about when deciding which site to play at. You should also look at factors such as payment options, game library, customer support, welcome bonuses and deals and mobile optimisations. Our casino reviews look at these factors and more.

Stake Range
Stakes for this game start at £0.10 and go up to £100 which is a pretty decent range.
Max Win
The highest amount available to win on this game is 865x the total stake which is low by modern standards.
Wild Shape
If you trigger 3 or more Wild Symbols on the reels it will activate a Power Glyph. It’s worth noting that the Wild symbol substitute for all symbols except the Power Glyph and White Rabbit.
Free Spins
You win Free Spins by guiding the White Rabbit through the Magical Maze with each spin. You’ll see him move around the grid and make his way to the bottom of the maze. Eventually, he’ll use the golden key to jump down into the hole where he’ll enter the Magic Free Spins World.
Before the Free Spins round begins you’ll spin the wheel to choose which random ‘Free Spins World.’ you’ll enter. There are three worlds available and you’ll be given a random amount of Free Spins between 6 and 8. During your Free Spins, the Power-up connected to the current Free Spins world is more powerful and will appear more frequently.
The three different worlds available are the Queen of Hearts Free Spins World which removes 2 entire columns of symbols and creates a Power Glyph in the middle of them. Next up is the Cheshire Cat Free Spins World which selects 2 random low symbol types on the grid and transforms them into a more valuable symbol. Finally, there is the Mad Hatter Free Spins World where the whole grid is shuffled more and gives a better result. Here the White Rabbit is not shuffled. There is also a re-trigger Free Spins where you can get an extra 1 and 5 Free Spins.
