DIEGO VELAZQUEZ is unbeaten on this track having won 3 times here in the last two seasons including in group 3 company. Dropping to a listed race here and having beaten other rivals before mean I expect another win here to make it 4 from - only negative is Ryan Moore is not taking the ride.

LOMBARDI TROPHY ran a credible 4th here on debut a month ago and is now upped in trip due to the strong stamina pedigree by Galileo which should get more out of him. This colt has the best form so far from that debut run with an RPR of 89 which is 5 higher than the most experienced horse in the field and 10 higher than any others with only one run under their belt so should be the horse to beat in this maiden.

QIRAT is my pick for the Victoria cup as he won fresh last season over 7f and has terrific form figures over that distance of 12112. The Judmonte team have been firing well with a 23% win rate over the last 14 days and I expect big things to kickstart a good season for this gelding.

TWILIGHT STAR is the only filly with a run under her belt - albeit not the best of runs - so should come on better for that 1st attempt. On pedigree she is well treated with sprint pedigree from Mehmas (also sires MOIRA EXPRESS) and a French Godolphin mare with moderate RPRs herself (whereas MOORA EXPRESS is by an unraced mare). LITTLE HAVANA has only just turned 2 so may not be matured enough for this event and SPICY MARG doesn't command anything on pedigree and trainer is 0-3 for his 2yo this season. With all this in a small field, I make this my NAP of the day to win.

ELMALKA won 1000 guineas here last year u dear the same rider who takes the reigns for the first time since. CINDERELLAS DREAM finished 7th that day and didn't handle the ground well and could well fade again here today. Good chance on that form so worth the slightly better odds against the other 2 favourites for a gamble.

QILIN QUEEN has the best form on turf whereas others have only done well on the all weather so may be caught out by the dip and surface here. It looks to be good to firm ground today which she has previously won on. When last seen she finished second by 2 lengths to a horse which has reappeared to finish 2nd at a rating of 104 so much higher than what will be seen here so the form does stack up for a good run on reappearance. Buick on home soil can be a bonus and he rode 2 winners here yesterday.

EL CORDOBES has run 2 good races in Medan during the winter which should prepare him well for this U.K. return. Both this and FRENCH MASTER are sired by Frankel and have talented trainers/jockeys but the best of FRENCH MASTER's form came in the AW surface so may not be as sure as this one who also has 2 runs under his belt this season.

Form figures of 11211 for last season suggest even he'll definitely be in the picture and French jockey Mickael Barzalona is over for the ride for the horse trainer Appleby has rated his best chance in the all blue colours of godolphin.
