An open looking race where top weight is not heavy on the 10+, but one I do think is on a competitive allocation is ANIMATE who could easily spring a surprise off a low mark, and I believe 7fs is where he wants to be right now on turf, a sound surface going this route.

CLIONIA is capable of pulling the rabbit out of the hat over 7fs on the AW in this grade. I think she just needs a little more luck in running, and things to fall in place, but she's not without a chance given she's used to a synthetic surface .

CHARGING THUNDER would definitely have a chance if he could rediscover some of his 2022 form on turf, but he is now on a similar mark to when he won three of his four races that year, albeit, the ground was much better then compared to the soft ground he's been running on this year, but that is by no means a negative, not in this grade anyhow.

MONTERIA probably gets his ideal ground conditons for the first time, and he's been in great form over ten furlongs for the most part; jockey Liam Keniry has strucked up a firm partnership with the 6yo Mehmas gelding, and I do get the impression that this race has been the plan for a good while.

I think the filly KATHMANDU ran a great race when winning at Southwell 7fs and she travels like a top of the ground horse, so I think she represents good value. Others obviously have bigger reputations, and a good few of them are a bit quirky, but there's no nonsense about this filly when she's in full stride.

In the context of this particular handicap, I think ARQOOB is rather well handicapped, the 6yo gelding by Estidhkaar showed plenty of heart chasing home Supreme Gift at Ascot, and he can only build on that today in identical conditions.
