Runs off a 7lbs higher mark today, but there could be more to come from this improver before the handicapper slows him down and 2.75 looks a price worth taking for him to follow up with another win today

I think it could be a case of finding the best of a bad bunch looking at the runners in this race, so, I think I will go for a tentative EW bet on Tis But a Scratch @ 19.00 He had finished unplaced in 13 runs over hurdles until finally placing in his last run, 14 days ago, when finishing 13 lengths 3rd of 9 over today’s C&D, so with this having followed his 2 previous outings in which he had finished 4th of 11 in both runs, I will chance he could possibly (and slowly) be improving, so, despite running 4lbs out of the handicap today, he may not have to improve much on his latest run to outrun his current odds of 19.0

He was beaten 18 lengths in his penultimate run on Soft ground, but bounced back to form next time out, 10 days ago, with a 2½ lengths 2nd of 12 on a more suitable (Good) surface, so with conditions to suit again today and running of an unchanged mark he should be good for a place if putting in a similar performance

Won in his only run at Newmarket (July 2022) when taking a 5 runner, 1m, Class 2 handicap, running of a mark of 93 Although unplaced in his last 3 runs, in Dubai, he could be good for a place if running near to the level of form he showed in his last 2 turf runs in the UK, when placing in Class 3 & Class 2 handicaps, the latest (Sept 2023) when beaten only a length and running off a mark 4lbs higher mark than he runs off today

Today looks a good opportunity to take his first turf win as he takes a drop in grade and runs off an unchanged mark with a 3lbs claimer taking over in the saddle

Apart from when unseating his rider at the 3rd fence, you couldn’t fault his runs in the second half of 2023: 2/2/2/UR/1 and he followed up with a win in his opening race of 2024, when running off a mark of 128, so although taking a sudden drop in form in his last 3 runs when beaten 19½L & 22L, he has dropped back down to a mark only 3lbs higher than his last win I reckon he could be worth chancing with an EW bet at current odds of 21.0 in the hope that I can leave his recent 2 poor efforts behind him and bounce back to form on returning after a 30 days break and with his usual 7lbs claimer in the saddle

Has not won since 2019, but put in some decent efforts in 2023 including 3 close up runner up finishes (running of marks between 95-98) Majority of his better runs have come on Good ground (and a couple on GS) so after a couple of recent runs on Hy & Sft ground we could may be see an improved effort on more suitable ground of GS (with no rain forecast) and running off a mark of 96 at his first attempt beyond 3 miles (placed at Perth last year over 3m)

Spurs have lost their last 4 games, to an aggregate score of 13-4, but these were games against teams in the top 7, so I will not only back them to get back to winning ways on Saturday, but also to take a win by a 2 or greater goal margin when facing a Burnley side who have lost all 11 games played against the current top 7 teams in which they conceded 3 or more goals in 10 of the 11 games (conceded a total of 36 goals). Spurs are on a run of 8 games in which they conceded in each game, so Burnley could get on the scoresheet in this game, but with Spurs having scored 29 goals in their 12 games against the bottom 7 sides (W10 D2 L0) I would be quietly confident of getting a return from backing Spurs on the AH with -1.5 goals at 1.87
