2025 Qipco 1000 Guineas Preview

The 1000 Guineas is run on the day following the 2000 Guineas at the Rowley Mile course at Newmarket in early May. This Group 1 race is open to three-year-old fillies only and is run over a straight mile with all fillies running off a weight of 9-0.

Those holding an official rating of 80+ can enter the race, those without a mark can enter if the handicapper deems their performances good enough. Like the 2000 Guineas, there is a £500k purse with just over £280k going to the winner of the race.

This race is only one of two British Classics which is restricted to fillies only with the Epsom Oaks being the other.
