The Spanish Segunda Division otherwise known as La Liga 2 is the second tier in Spanish football. The league consists of twenty-two teams who play each other home and away in a forty-two-game season.

Relegation: The bottom four sides come to the end of the season and are relegated to the Segunda Division B.

Promotion: The top two teams are automatically promoted to La Liga whilst the teams in the third to sixth compete in a playoff for the third promotion spot.
