3yo Cable Bay filly makes her first run for Paul Midgley stable here. Paul Mulrennan (SR 14%) rides. Some decent form in the book in seven runs for Rod Millman last year. Won a maiden on third start by three lengths. Ran off OR 72 in the Weatherby’s Super Sprint at Newbury and not outclassed there. Experienced and could be well in with some of these from current rating of 64.

Killer Kane has twice won before over course and distance from marks of 120 and 126 and is back to that last winning mark today. Has run some good races this season without winning, going pretty close here in a similar race here in February. Three races in Grade 3 company since. Killer Kane has run respectably each time and is dropped back in grade now. Brendan Powell (SR 15%) rides for Joe Tizzard (SR 11%). Likely to appreciate the better ground today. Nine year old with confirmed experience and ability.

Mark Fahey trained Rhythm King has won three of sixteen starts which isn’t a bad percentage. Has performed best on soft or heavy ground and twice won at the seven furlongs trip. Well backed but two very poor runs back on turf this season. Carries ten stone here, not far off the official top-rated, and dropped three pounds now just two pounds above last winning mark. Excellent 5lbs claimer Hugh Horgan booked for the ride. Must return to form but big price for quite a smart sort.

Downforce has run two good races over course and distance on similar ground. Fourth of 20 in March and fifth of 27 in April. Got closer last time going down by just over a length. Remains on the same mark of 64. Twelve year old has won 8 of 58 turf starts. Most interesting is Jessica Maye claiming ten pounds today. She has twice finished second on the stable’s Mogwli this season and looks capable. Bill McCreery (SR 10%) trains.
