Captain Cattistock usually runs well at Cheltenham and especially at this time of year. In 2021, he returned from a break to win a Hunter Chase race at Cheltenham in April. In 2022, he returned from a break once again to win this very race in April at Cheltenham. Finally, in 2023 after a break, he turned up at Cheltenham once again in April and won this race. So he has won today's race for the past two years. He must have been aimed at it again and he has had a break. Admittedly, the break this year has been longer than in the past, but I have to stick with him to run well once again at Cheltenham in April.

His opponent is not in tremendous form, but he has qualified to reach this round and that Bucharest court experience must be to his advantage.

Kilbarry Ace is an interesting runner in this race. She made her debut last month in a competitive looking bumper at Leopardstown. She started the race at 9/2, so some people must have thought she held a chance of victory. She ended up finishing only 6th, but I will give her another chance today in a race that looks like it will not take much winning. The odds on offer at present are a great deal bigger than her SP last time.

Gabriel Ranger run in his first handicap hurdle race earlier in the month. He finished down the field, but promise. Today, I can see him running an improved race now that he has experience, It is also interesting that Danny Mullins keeps the mount for today's race.

Uptherefor thinking showed his best form in his last race back in December. In only his second handicap race, he finished sixth keeping on at the finish. If he continues with the improvement and gets stronger he can run even better today, especially with a good weight claiming jockey riding.

Tees Spirit won handicap races on his debut run in both 2021 and 2022. In 2023, his debut was in a Listed race and that was probably too high a class for him. Today, he makes his 2024 debut and is back in a handicap. Admittedly, he did not win a race last season , but as a result he has dropped in the handicap and his last two races were in class 2 handicaps. Today in a class 3 handicap, he can be competitive.
