Ballynagran CD winner in May last year came back to form last time after a spell in the doldrums. That was in a class 4, where he was 6lb out the handicap. His run would have given connections big hopes of landing a win with him before the season is out. Brian Hughes is booked for today's foray back into class 5 company, and he's in the handicap proper, off a decent mark. Not won on heavy but has on soft and the more the ground dries out the better his hopes become. Looks fair EW value at 12/1.

Largy Nights is a CD winner who also won at Sedgefield in November on ground that was much quicker than it was when he ran there again last time out (despite official description saying soft for both). He still has progression within him at his age having not been heavily raced and freshened up could go well, rider gets on well with him and yard does well here. 16/1 with a 4 place payout offers some betting value.

Due to the weather Karakoram has not had the conditions he needs to be at his best, dropped notably in the handicap for the last five below par efforts. (but genuine reasons he has not performed) Today he has the drying ground to help him along with the trip that suits him best. If recapturing form now of around this time last year when he won off 8lb higher mark he has serious claims 25/1 that he does looks solid EW value.

Won two races well on soft 2m4f before the latest run at Uttox 2m4f heavy when a slow run race became a bit of a sprint finish and despite travelling strongly One Eye On Vegas was outpaced on the run in. Breeding suggests this trip will suit as did his latest run. Yard remains in form and the 7yo looks very good EW value at double figure odds.

Electric Mason was 3rd in a hot bumper at Ascot on racecourse debut and followed that up with another good 2nd at Fontwell when conditions were likely too heavy and trip was very sharp at 1m5f. Has to be worth another chance in this at the current price as on paper he has the potential to prove to be as good as any of today's rivals. The yard has been bringing in some good youngsters this year and is doing well with them.

Quilixios came back this season after having over 600 days off and won two from three (race he was beaten in was too far at 3m), before running poorly at Cheltenham Festival. Clearly something not quite right there, but he deserves another chance as he is only 7yo and if he does show previous form today he has a serious chance.

Citizen Jane a 5yo put in three fair efforts last summer on good and good to soft ground and looked one with a bit of potential. Has come back this season with three runs that were difficult tasks on very soft ground. Subsequently, dropped 5lb and today's race looks a much better opportunity for the 5yo to show what it can do. Small speculative EW bet does hold some value in this contest.

Meetingofthewaters started chasing early this season and after two runs to get the hang of things his form reads 11U3. His last run when third at Cheltenham was a step-up in trip, and he handled it very well and looked like a tougher stamina test would suit him. Young but plenty of potential and if he settles well early he has a serious chance. Currently, around the 14/1 mark he appeals for win purposes.

Vanillier was 2nd in this race last year under today's rider and is 9lb better off today with the winner Corach Rambler. He was 2nd to I Am Maximus last tine out by 14l, but the ground was much more testing than it will be today. He would need some luck to win the race, but his potential for finishing in the frame looks bigger than the odds suggest.

It could be a little too early to write this grand servant to the Henderson yard off just yet, even though the bookmakers seem to have done so. His last two runs have been good solid efforts and the yard is in much better form now. Champ is 12yo and in the veteran stage, but he could well have one last hurrah in him and at today's very big price 28/1 with a 4 place payout looks worth a small EW interest.
