British actor Nicholas Hoult is now the 3/1 favourite to be the next Superman
The betting market has changed drastically in the past fortnight for who will be the next Superman with British actor Nicholas Hoult the 3/1 favourite with bookies.
Hoult, known for X-Men and Skins, is given a 25% chance according to the betting odds to take over as the Superhero as DC look for a new lead for the role.
Austin Butler played Elvis in the film about the singer's life last year and he's second favourite in the betting market to become Superman next.
Next Superman Actor | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Nicholas Hoult | 3/1 | 25.0% |
Austin Butler | 4/1 | 20.0% |
Michael B. Jordan | 6/1 | 14.3% |
Armie Hammer | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Aaron Taylor-Johnson | 10/1 | 9.1% |
DC could also decide to cast their first ever black Superman and Michael B. Jordan, who was favourite originally in the betting market, is now 6/1 to take over from Henry Cavill.
British actor Nicholas Hoult is the latest favourite with bookies to take over as Superman next with Henry Cavill leaving the role as Man of Steel.

Miles Teller was favourite at 5/2 to be the next Superman but his odds have since drifted
Miles Teller was the betting favourite at 5/2 to be the next Superman just a fortnight ago following DC Studios new co-chairman James Gunn announcing a new direction for the character.
Teller was one of the stars of Top Gun: Maverick and that role will have opened up even further acting possibilities for the future.
It's unclear the direction that DC will go with the character but the betting is constantly changing over who will take over from Henry Cavill with no concrete rumours around as of yet.
Former Superman Henry Cavill is now second favourite to be James Bond
Henry Cavill is high up in the market with bookmakers to be the next James Bond following him leaving his role as Superman.
The British actor has been linked with being James Bond in the past and the stars may well have aligned for him to slot into the 007 role.
William Hill have made him second favourite just behind Aaron Taylor-Johnson who is favourite following reported screen tests for 007.
Next James Bond | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Aaron Taylor-Johnson | 6/4 | 40.0% |
Henry Cavill | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Regé-Jean Page | 6/1 | 14.3% |
James Norton | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Tom Hardy | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Douglas Booth | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Richard Madden | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Long time candidate in the betting Regé-Jean Page remains in and around the top of the market at third favourite with odds of 6/1.
We should know who the next James Bond is at some point this year with recording for the next film likely to start taking place towards the end of 2023.
It looks like a two horse race to be the next James Bond with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill both switching into favourite back and forth in the past month! Cavill will be looking for his next big role following his departure from Superman.
