Aaron Taylor-Johnson back into 6/4 favourite to be the next Bond with bookies changing their odds
Aaron Taylor-Johnson is back into favourite with bookies after odds to be the next James Bond dropped massively in the past month after reports of a "secret screen test" for the role.
Recent reports say that Taylor-Johnson met with Barbara Broccoli and the Bond team with three meetings and a screen test taking place.
William Hill have made him favourite again to be the next Bond after Henry Cavill was backed into favourite more recently in the past month.
Next James Bond | Odds | Probability |
---|---|---|
Aaron Taylor-Johnson | 6/4 | 40.0% |
Henry Cavill | 7/4 | 36.4% |
Regé-Jean Page | 6/1 | 14.3% |
James Norton | 7/1 | 12.5% |
Tom Hardy | 8/1 | 11.1% |
Douglas Booth | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Richard Madden | 12/1 | 7.7% |
Long time candidate in the betting Regé-Jean Page remains in and around the top of the market at third favourite with odds of 6/1.
We should know who the next James Bond is at some point this year with recording for the next film likely to start taking place towards the end of 2023.
It looks like a two horse race to be the next James Bond with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Henry Cavill both switching into favourite back and forth in the past month!

Henry Cavill was backed into favourite but has since drifted slightly to 7/4
Henry Cavill was backed into favourite to be the next Bond after leaving both The Witcher and Superman in the couple of months.
The British actor has been linked with the James Bond role in the past and the stars may well have aligned for him to slot into the 007 role.
There have been no recent reports linking him further with the role though as all talk cools on Cavill taking over.
Bookies give odds of 7/2 that the James Bond franchise goes to streaming only
The way we watch movies is changing constantly and there are odds on the Bond franchise going streaming only in 2023.
The latest betting odds say there's a 22% chance that James Bond will be streaming only going forward with the movies having a spell on Amazon Prime Video earlier this year potentially hinting at that.
At odds of 7/2, Betway say there's a good chance that the franchise goes to streaming only but it'll likely need Box Office figures to keep making the films.
Bookies now make it 7/2 that we see the James Bond franchise go straight to streaming in future with more films being released on streaming platforms. Amazon had a spell earlier this year where they had EVERY Bond movie available as part of their Prime Video service.
