Keir Starmer is the 1/3 favourite to be the next Prime Minister

Current Labour Leader Keir Starmer is now as short as 1/3 to be the next Prime Minister following the local elections earlier this month.

As expected, Labour had a strong performance in the local elections with the Conservative Party struggling much more than they originally thought.

The Tories lost 1063 councillors around the UK with Labour gaining 537 of them and the Liberal Democrats winning 407.

Labour now 1/7 to get the most seats at the next General Election

Following that local election thumping it's now expected that Labour will have a huge performance at the next General Election.

Labour are now as short as 1/7 to gain the most seats at the next General Election with a landslide expected according to thhe odds.

The Conservative Party are 7/2 to get the most seats which gives them a 22% chance of doing so but it's now extremely likely it'll be a Labour win.

We're in the dark over when the next General Election will be with the next one not due until January 2025 but the PM could well call for one sooner.

What the expert says

It's likely that Labour will have the most seats at the next General Election with the latest odds now as short as 1/7 for Labour to do so, with the Conservatives now out to 7/2 in the market.
