Where to find winners?? At the end of April I started a experiment, looking at the top three in the sp betting give it's fair amount of winners. What if I looked at the betting forecast the night before and cocerntrated on the top 3 in the betting, looking at all the bookmakers comparison. With no real strategy I picked on horse from the top three in the betting forecast the night before. What came apparent was that often a fancied horse would drift in the market and then win. Also a 7/4 fav would often end up a very short odds on and win. I tipped them on no comments table for ease of keeping a record. The results are not mind blowing but shows that the bookies odds compilers are worth watching. Before public money starts to alter the odds.
April,,95tips. 31.44 points profit 37% win rate bit of luck there
May 836. Tips. 10.43 points profit 26% win rate,
Not mind blowing but shows that the bookies are the best tipsters, was told this by my uncle many years ago. Just a bit of trivia for people new to the game. I bet myself less than 20 horses a month , 95% will come from the top 3 in the betting forecast take the night before, the others are usually from the 4th and 5th ib the betting forecast taken from the night before. Many will already know this but but hopefully help new betters get a slight edge .be lucky

Thats very interesting. For a number of years, around 4, I collected forecast positions on the first three runners based on the Daily Telegraph racing pages. Top three come in around 53% of the time with some interesting prices, best one being 50/1.
Second forecast fav was the one to watch out for with a little more effort, couple of tweaks, that would have been worth while in the long run.

These are really interesting observations indeed. I gotta say 50/1 is also the best one.
