SILVER NICKEL

Silver Nickel has been racing over further and getting in the places so has blinkers fitted for the first time which hopefully will bring that elusive win. Has dipped his toes in Class 3 and 4 but is more comfortable in this class. Dropped back down in handicap to what he was when he finished 2nd in his penultimate race. Daniel Samson retains the ride and his 3lb allowance very welcome.

Good luck all :hope:

Lingfield 3.00
SILVER NICKEL
If you are a gelding out of a Roselier mare it is quite possible you will be a grey like your damsire. It's also quite possible that you will take after his progeny and his dams' progeny and relish a test of stamina on soft and heavy ground. Roselier's progeny list reads like a who's who of such animals - Suny Bay, Carvill's Hill, Moorcroft Boy etc. Unsurprisingly the dam showed her best form over three miles on soft ground.
Silver Nickel is yet to win but a regional "National" in testing conditions would be right up his street in due course.
His career best effort came at Ascot over today's distance on soft going. That run also came at this time of year.
He tried 3.5 miles plus last time but Plumpton on good ground would not be a likely place for him to win.
Daniel Sansom has been in the saddle for his best efforts and retains the ride.
Silver Nickel must surely have more to offer and at seven years old will still be improving over fences.
First time blinkers may help.
Silver Nickel has never fallen or unseated and it would be a massive disappointment to this tipster if he is not a points scorer today.

240 Taunton
Slate house.
9/12/21

Been we'll beaten in two outings this year but both have been in much better races than this one today. He is also dropped in trip from his last two runs and may help him as he will also get the going with softish his favourite going.

SLATE HOUSE

Colin Tizzard horses are sounding out good runs with wins and placed efforts, which is far better than the other year when the stable was under a cloud.
Slate House has not come to the fore in two runs this season and the drop in class could be a significant pointer towards rival.
He is a talented horse who is racing at least twenty pounds lower than what he has raced off in the past and can capitalise on this with a solid performance here today, this is when he was chasing, over hurdles he can still bring form to the table.

Hopefully the good ground stays around as he is by Presenting and this could be playing to his strengths and help towards giving the weight away.

The stable has three runners at Taunton and all big priced and connections can get a big price in the bag and Slate House could be obliging at 16/1.

Today going for Royal Pretender..

Been out 3 times this term, placed in all of them.
Ignore last 2 runs to small fields.
Won at Warw in 2m 5f and 9 run, on good,
end of Sept.
Place 5 times this year, likes the trip.
Got different jockey on.
Field will like this size of runners.
Hopes runs well and gets placed. :)

Osprey Call

Osprey Call was going well when falling three out on season debut at Newbury last time and if over that mishap than should run well again here.He is a lightly raced sort who still has more improvement to come and has won on this type of ground in the past.Sean Bowen takes over in the saddle here and a big run is expected from this horse.

Taunton 2.40
RED ROYALIST returns from a long break having been placed in similar circumstances. One of his career best performances came at this time of year on a right-handed track on good ground following a long layoff.
He has finished outside the first three on only three occasions out of 21 starts under rules for two stables.
Taunton is right-handed and sharp - two of Red Royalist's best performances have been on the right-handed tracks at Market Rasen and Huntingdon.
Today's sharp bends and short run-in place an emphasis on speed. Red Royalist has run well on the flat at distances from 6 to 16 furlongs.
He has gone well on good to soft going but appears ideally suited to today's forecast good ground which would also put more emphasis on speed.
Red Royalist has finished second in a handicap hurdle of 15 runners carrying 11-10 and won a hurdle carrying 11-5 (carries 11-2 today).
Best hurdling run came in cheekpieces - wears them today.
Looked at least as good as ever when last seen placing in a York flat handicap.
The class of today's race is a slight worry but could get in the points at a price.

ITACARE

Itacare is an ex French horse who has a win and two places from six starts over jumps and has joined a very good yard in David Pipe. His win came in August this year over 2m 2.5f on soft going. Has not encountered any going apart from Soft and Heavy so a firmer going may see an improvement and this is his third race since a wind operation which should see him run better with more wind in the engine. Tom Scudamorein the plate as he was for his last two runs and we saw an improvement in his second race so hopefully Itacare has settled in his new home and will soon reap the rewards.

Good luck all :hope:

2.40 Taunton

GUERNESEY

Trainer Philip Hobbs ...... .... .... ... ... .... ...... ...> Jockey Sean Houlihan ( 3 ibs )

A Philip Hobbs trained 5 year old who has had 10 races over the hurdles winning once and has finished in the frame 5 times. His win came in Oct in class 4 conditional jockey handicap hurdle at Exeter over 2m 2 1/2f on good to firm going ridden by today's jockey Sean Houlihan when leading 2 flights out to win by 3 lengths. He is in a class 3 handicap hurdle over 2m 3f on good going, this gelding finished 3rd of 7 runners only beaten 1/2 a length 2 weeks ago here at Taunton over c/d and the same class of race when made fav making a mistake at the final flight. He appears to have improved this year, slightly unlucky last time out over c/d under today's jockey. Has a good e/w shout in this race today.

TAUNTON 2.40 GUERNESEY

This P J Hobbs trained gelding is the winner of a two mile two furlong hurdle race in early October and has gone close to winning in his two races since the latest over this course and distance two weeks ago when only beaten 1/2 length in third behind the Jonjo O Neill trained An Tailliur despite blundering badly at the last so with Sean Houlihan taking 3 pounds off he looks hard to keep out of the frame
