Re: Can online blackjack ever be profitable in the long run?
I'm sorry if I'm being arrogant now, but I'm really confused by people who think it would be possible to make money in the long run or having and edge on the house. I mean, how do you think the casinos are making money?

An edge at blackjack against the house it means like 1%. 1% its huge advantage if you play 100$ stakes, 80 hands /h, you gain ~80$ profit in the long run. You don't need to count cards to eliminate cards from a single deck or to use an optimal strategy for a multiple deck, your 1% edge against the house is when you know the dealer's vulnerable first cards 4,5,6, their strong starting first cards 10, A and the best strategy to play against them using your cards using split and double-up. Also with a single deck, if you see more low cards played in the first round, by you, another player or by the dealer, you should play 3-4x your stake because chances for you to hit bigger cards are in your favour, you get 2.5 for BJ, dealer only gets 2 to 1 win, the same thing when you see higher cards played in the first 2 rounds, you should play minimum stake because low cards are not in your favour. To sum up all of this, you need a big bankroll,100-200 stakes and most of the players don't have it. People repeat all the time you don't have an advantage because the dealer acts first and he wins even you both bust, but they miss the fact that the dealer doesn't think, he is predictable, he can't get 2.5 on a bj over you, he cant double up, he cant split or do anything fancy after he sees you have an 18 and he has 17, so in the end, the house has a small edge only against the majority( 90-95%weak players), they know this and it doesn't matter since only 1 of 10 or one of 20 players has a 1% edge against them, other players make bad bets on a daily basis.I'm sorry if I'm being arrogant now, but I'm really confused by people who think it would be possible to make money in the long run or having and edge on the house.

Profitable for who exactly? If you're talking about the player, there are strategies you can incorporate to make your chances a bit better. This is why it's one of the best casino games in the world for that sole reason. However, the house edge for blackjack is one of the lowest in any casino game which should concern casinos everywhere.

For me blackjack, poker and roulette are the most difficult games, I don't seem to fully understand the rules of the game, or how you can outwit your opponent.
