Win To Nil
-
In the group stages of Euro 2020 (36 games) half the games finished with a team winning to Nil.
-
23 of the 50 Euro 2020 matches have now been to Nil.
-
The last 4 Euro Tournament finals have been won to NIL, (1-0AET), 4-0,1-0,1-0.
We looked at the opening group games at Euro 2020 taking place between the 11th and 15th June 2021
We then compared the standard odds with the win-to-nil odds.
Naturally, in every case, the win to nil odds was greater because you are relying on two things happening:
The team you back to win, the team you back do not concede.
You have to decide on an individual match basis if the odds on offer are value and worth the risk.
A previous blogger highlighted his enthusiasm for this on a blog - Is Win To Nil An Underrated Market.
You could of course split your bet between the standard win and the win-to-nil bet, on a ratio of your choice, depending how confident you are.
This would guarantee you a return if the team won but didn't keep a clean sheet.
Part of my keenness on this bet is that in the 2016 European Championship over 52% of matches (19 of the 36) group stage games were won to Nil.
This time around many countries are playing at home in the group stages, and that must surely be a further advantage.
I would hope that by reading the form and knowing the countries many readers can take advantage of the win-to-nil markets.
Win To Nil betting odds will be available from most Euro 2020 online bookmakers.
As always please gamble responsibly.
