Multi-Sport Betting Challenge - Best Bets & Thoughts - (September)

Hello there, thanks for opting to read my latest offerings on OLBG and in doing so I'm hoping you enjoy the ride and benefit from it in many ways. Those of you who know me via the OLBG forums and my blogs as 'Tbuckley' or on twitter as @tbuckleythinks will know that I'm passionate about sports and sports betting, that I've been a sports fan for as long as I can remember and I've been betting on sports since it was legal to do so, likewise I've been writing articles, blogs etc on various websites and forums since then, to top it all off I work in the betting industry and have worked at different sporting venues. That's a bit about me but what it all comes down to is that I am really passionate about writing about sports & sports betting and I love nothing more than getting stuck into writing blogs that I hope will interest and help people, indeed helping others land successful bets is honestly far more rewarding than when I win for myself, feel free to check out my other blogs if you want. I love writing blogs & being a part of the OLBG blogging squad, I like to challenge myself by doing different types of blogs including doing various Challenges and this will be another where I record my honest thoughts and keep an honest record of the returns from those bets. This blog is titled Multi-Sport Betting Challenge and the difference this time will be that I will be posting bets & thoughts for different sports instead of just focusing on Football like I've done in previous seasons. I love football, I love snooker, I love darts and I love horse racing so they'll primarily be the sports which I offer bets and thoughts on and as a bonus I'll be inviting knowledgeable guest tipsters who may well offer thoughts for others sports as well, with the aim of offering a variety of interesting and useful content. I'll be doing a blog each month and updating the figures accordingly, the range of bets will vary, as will the sports I'm betting on, I won't be offering bets or thoughts every day and sometimes I might go a week without offering up a single bet, it's about offering bets I think are good, solid value bets that make sense and have a solid chance of generating a profit, also about offering up thoughts I believe will interest and benefit people, that's the motivation behind the blog. So here it goes, throughout doing this blog I'll be completely honest as to how confident I feel about a certain bet and what bet stakes I'm personally having, I'll record my figures and those of any guest tipsters who join me in this challenge. The motivation for doing this blog is to interest people, to offer information that helps betting decision making process and hopefully provide profitable betting advice, with key advice being that bet staking will always be a personal choice & is the responsibility of the individual betting.

Bet 1 - 5p Super Heinz + £1 accumulator (56/1) = £7

to start with for those that don't know a Super Heinz is a type of multiple bet which combines 7 selections, can be horses, football teams etc in a series of doubles, trebles, 4-fold, 5-folds, 6-folds and 1 7-fold, in total there are 120 different bets in a Super Heinz. You can do these type of bets for any kind of unit stake but I think they are great to do for small unit stakes ie 5p, 10p, 20p etc as if all win it is a way of generating very good returns from an initial small bet, even if 1 or 2 selections fail you will still generate a profit or at least return stakes, so it's a bet that effectively has a level of insurance built in. For this particular bet my 7 selections are :-

LEEDS UNITED to beat Birmingham at 13/20
WOLVES to beat Bristol City at 4/5
ACCRINGTON to beat Grimsby at 17/20
NOTTS COUNTY to beat Swindon at 21/20
MANSFIELD to beat Wycombe at 17/20
SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY to beat Brentford
MAN CITY to beat Feyernoord at 4/11
An all correct 5p Super Heinz will pay = £64.49

An all correct £1 accumulator (55.83/1) will pay = £56.83

Total Return if all correct bet = £121.32 All 7 teams selected look to have really solid chances of winning and come into these set of games on the back of confidence boost wide margin wins, particularly in the case of LEEDS, MANSFIELD, MAN CITY & SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY. 6 of the teams have home advantage against weaker sides so should all have a very good chance of taking the points if their mental approach is right, the only away side are MANCHESTER CITY and they should be way too strong for Feyernoord given their incredible attacking talent. Of course expecting all 7 to win still requires several events to go right and an amount of luck to go our way, every bet placed does, but on the limited evidence so far and importantly most recent evidence, all 7 teams deserve to be the price they are and every chance of winning. Remember there are bookmakers including Ladbrokes who offer Money Back as Free Bet offers on specific accumulator coupons if you just fancy doing the accumulator part and also remember the Cash Out options that most bookmakers offer today.

September 13th - Bet 2 - 10p Each Way Lucky 15 + 25p e/w acca = £3.50

The St Leger meeting starts at Doncaster on Wednesday and I love having a go at trying to find the winners at the Leger meeting, Doncaster is my personal favourite course and the St Leger meeting is my favourite meeting, with it all culminating with the fantastic St Leger on Saturday. My general betting strategy on the horses is mainly very small unit stakes bets ie 10p, 20p, 50p etc but when I actually go to the races I'll happily have bigger singles from £5 upwards. With regards to the action on the opening day of the St Leger meeting then I'm just going to have a small fun interest to cheer on, another reason for keeping the stakes low is the fact the ground will be pretty soft and that combined with the mostly small fields can produce tactical races and false results, definitely not a day for big stakes as just too risky. 10p Each Way Lucky 15 + 25p each way acca from Doncaster :-
2.50 - RUM RUNNER at 5/1
3.20 - DESERT LAW at 5/1
4.20 - SIX STRINGS at 8/1
5.20 - CROSSE FIRE at 18/1
* odds taken from Skybet with Best Odds Guaranteed
Total Stake = £3.50
Potential payout on all successful bet = £2,500 depending on final odds
The ground is going to be very tough for the horses and so my approach is backing 4 horses who I believe will handle the soft conditions ok and importantly hopefully better than the others, they are really tricky races to solve but I'm hopeful they've got each way chances. ,b> RUM RUNNER in the 2.50 looks very interesting judged on last time out win & should have more to offer in conditions that should suit, the 3.20 is a real puzzle with doubts over them all but I think DESERT LAW can handle the ground and is the value at 5/1, SIX STRINGS faces a tough task in the 4.20 but should handle the ground well and that can put him in the mix with 8/1 a fair price, CROSSE FIRE gets into the closing handicap off bottom weight and is proven in soft ground so looks good each way value to me around 18/1. That's my fun bet for the opening day of the St Leger meeting, fingers crossed and let's hope start the meeting with a bang, if those 4 win it will be a very big bang for me, I can dream.!!!

September 14th - Bet 3 - 15p Lucky 31 & 50p e/w acca = £5.65

Apologies to anybody who followed the Lucky 15 on Wednesday, suffice to say it was rubbish and I think the 4 horses selected are yet to finish their races, just a bad day at the office. Anyway, we move on with a positive attitude and I'm feeling lucky as 14th September is a huge day for me as it's my wedding anniversary, 18 years going strong and I'm a very lucky man so anything else is a bonus for sure. It's Ladies Day at the St Leger meeting at Doncaster on Thursday and that's always a cracking day, great fun atmosphere and great racing, here's hoping this Lucky 31 delivers something for us to cheer :- 15p Lucky 31 & 50p e/w acca :-
Doncaster 1.50 - THE MUMS
Doncaster 2.25 - NYALETI
Doncaster 3.00 - MELODIC MOTION
Doncaster 3.35 - GREAT PROSPECTOR
 Doncaster 4.05 - DARK RED
Thursday's action at Doncaster looks really interesting and looks to have plenty of quality but also seriously competitive races so it won't be easy but I think the 5 highlighted have really good chances on their best form. THE MUMS will be very popular no doubt given it's Frankie Dettori and it's Ladies Day but also last time out form at Newbury looked good and reproduction of that should see John Gosden's filly go close in the 1.50. I feel that NYALETI is the classiest horse on display at Doncaster on Thursday and I think Mark Johnston's filly is the one to beat in the 2.25, she should be fine with the step up in trip and has the class to beat her rivals off on ground that should be fine for her. MELODIC MOTION, GREAT PROSPECTOR & DARK RED all face tough competition in wide open looking races in the 3.00, 3.35 and 4.05 respectively but I think those 3 will be suited by the conditions, they've got the form in the book & have more to offer. That's Thursday bet at Doncaster and I'll be watching with my fingers crossed, hopefully Lady Luck shines down on us on Ladies Day at Doncaster, good luck with whatever bets you have.

September 15th - Mix n match at Doncaster

As I write this it doesn't look great for Thursday's bet with a couple hitting the crossbar & the other 2 not very good at all, Lady Luck has vanished at the moment and she needs to come back soon. Anyway, I'll keep endeavouring trying to find those winners to get us back on track in the battle against the bookmakers and give us something to cheer, hopefully it will be this lot at Doncaster on Friday, small fun bets again as I'll be doing bigger stakes on Saturday when I go :-

1.50 - ON HER TOES & DRUMFAD BAY 50p each way singles 81 & 14/1 : - really interesting & seriously competitive renewal of the Group 3 fillies stakes over 7 furlongs, lots of tempting options who can be seriously regarded and Talaayeb looks the best of the fancied runners but I'm going to chance ON HER TOES & DRUMFAD BAY each way as I believe they both have shown enough to suggest they can be really competitive and both have more to offer on ground that should be fine. 2.25 - HAVANA GREY - £3 win at 6/4 :- Tranier Karl Burke had a storming day at Doncaster on Thursday and I feel that HAVANA GREY can land him another big prize and take the Group 2 Flying Childers, he's had a brilliant season to date and definitely sets the standard on form and ratings, he has to give weight away to Heartache but I think he's got the class to do it and power home in front. 3.00 - TIME TO STUDY - £1 win at 7/2 :- Mark Johnston horses don't often get in off bottom weight in a handicap so the fact he's got the talented TIME TO STUDY in this near £40,000 handicap off bottom weight has to be taken notice of and I do feel that TIME TO STUDY is the one to beat, ground not perfect but should be fine and he should have more to give. 3.35 - SHEIKHZAYEDROAD - 50p e/w at 5/1 :- This is a fascinating renewal of the Group 2 Doncaster Cup and once again produces a field of real quality stayers so it's going to be tough but I'm putting my faith in last years winner SHEIKHZAYEDROAD each way, he's won on both visits to Doncaster, he's versatile in terms of ground and has won on this kind of ground before, he very rarely runs a bad race and should be right in the mix if on form, 5/1 each way looks sound enough. They are my small fun bets for Friday, best odds guaranteed so hopefully they win at bigger prices, all the best with whatever bets you have.

16th & 17th September - Weekend Football Bet

Here we go with this weekend's football bets to give an added interest to what looks to be a cracking set of games throughout all the leagues in England. 5p Super Heinz + £1 acca (34/1) = £7 I did a Super Heinz during Midweek and explained what it is, for those that don't know a Super Heinz is a type of multiple bet which combines 7 selections, can be horses, football teams etc in a series of doubles, trebles, 4-fold, 5-folds, 6-folds and 1 7-fold, in total there are 120 different bets in a Super Heinz.

You can do these type of bets for any kind of unit stake but I think they are great to do for small unit stakes ie 5p, 10p, 20p etc as if all win it is a way of generating very good returns from an initial small bet, even if 1 or 2 selections fail you will still generate a profit or at least return stakes, so it's a bet that effectively has a level of insurance built in..

The midweek Super Heinz produced 4 winners from 7 and and that managed to drag approximately 35% of the stake money back, 5 winners would have broken even and 6 a nice profit, this kind of bet you need a lot to go wrong to lose all your money. The 7 teams I'm putting together in this weekend's Super Heinz are :-

TOTTENHAM to beat Swansea at 1/4
MAN CITY to beat Watford at 4/11
FULHAM at 17/20 to beat burton
BLACKBURN at 8/13 to beat Wimbledon
NOTTS COUNTY at 6/5 to beat Crawley
WIGAN at 4/5 to beat Bristol Rovers
MIDDLESBROUGH at 8/11 to beat QPR
a fully correct 5p Super Heinz will pay = £47.79

a full correct £1 acca (approx. 34/1) will pay = £34.83

potential total payout from bet = £82.62

from initial £7 total stake TOTTENHAM were super impressive against Everton in the league last weekend with a 3-0 win which could have been 5 or 6, they then followed that up with a smart 3-1 win at home in the Champions League and that should set them up with full confidence of 3 points against a very weak Swansea team., they are 1/4 but quite easily could be 1/6 or shorter. MAN CITY have mostly been sensational so far this season scoring goals for fun and while Watford are respected on their excellent form, I just don't see the sense in opposing the sheer attacking brilliance of Man City right now and they do generally enjoy playing Watford, 3 points for City looks likely to me. MIDDLESBROUGH are starting to get their act together and climbing the table steadily, they had to show real resolution against Aston Villa after playing with 10 men for most of match but they got a 0-0 and are very hard to break down, I can't see QPR being good enough to stop Middlesbrough winning at home. FULHAM backing teams to win away in the Championships is a risky business but in this case I think it's a case of it has to be done with FULHAM far stronger than a Burton side struggling for confidence and suffering bad defeats, can't look past a Fulham win with goals. BLACKBURN had a slow & losing start to life in League 1 but they are hitting form now and should be too strong at home against a Wimbledon side who don't usually travel that well, solid home win looks the call. NOTTS COUNTY have gone through some really tough times in recent years but they've had a cracking start to this League 2 season and I think the bookmakers are taking a risk offering odds against that they travel to struggling Crawley and take the points, they are confident & winning, they can get the job done. WIGAN like Blackburn have dropped into League 1 but they've done ok with their start and look set for a productive season, Bristol Rovers can test them but Wigan look the right price at home to edge the win and take the points. As things stand now that's my main football bet for this weekend, I might add another before Saturday, either way I'm hoping to be cheering these sides home this weekend, hit a few Super Heinz's last year and would love to get this blog up & running with another, more importantly would like to reward those following and boost your bank balances.

16th September - Champions League Darts Double

For those of you who don't follow Darts closely then there is a huge tournament on this weekend with 8 of the best players in the world doing battle in the 2017 Champions League of Darts and will be live on BBC this Saturday & Sunday. For those interested www.olbg.com are running a Best Tip Comment competition where the person with the best written tip will win £20 cash so check out the Darts Forum on olbg for more details. I've posted a couple of tips so decided to stick my selections together in a fun interest Double, the bet I'm doing is a £5 Double on WRIGHT to beat Chisnall (1/2) and ANDERSON to beat Suljovic (1/4) combined it works out at around 10/11 - comments are posted on OLBG but basically I just fancy both WRIGHT & ANDERSON to have too much class and make their proven big match TV experience pay off. Here we go with this weekend's football bets to give an added interest to what looks to be a cracking set of games throughout all the leagues in England.

September 16th - St Leger Day - Watch out Doncaster bookmakers, here I come!!!

I write this on the eve of St Leger day at Doncaster, my favourite raceday at my favourite course, got so many great memories of going to the St Leger and I can't wait to go again tomorrow. Just the buzz of being there on Town Moor will be enough reward for me to have a good day but I'm hoping it's a great day topped off with a few winners, on that here are the horses I think have the profile to run well and be involved, it's really competitive racing and will be tough to land winners but we got a good one up on Friday with TIME TO STUDY and I'm hoping I can hit a few more :- Doncaster 1.50 - AMOMENTOFMADNESS at 14/1, VIBRANT CHORDS at 15/2 & MERLIN at 14/1 all each way - The Portland Handicap is always a seriously competitive sprint to try and solve with so many holding a fair chance, I've gone for each way plays on VIBRANT CHORDS, AMOMENTOFMADNESS & MERLIN as they've all shown plenty of ability and should all be fine on the likely ground, tough but their best puts them in the mix. For that race I've also done a fun small stakes combination forecast & tricast bet for some extra greedy fun. Doncaster 2.25 - HOME OF THE BRAVE win at 3/1 & BRETON ROCK each way at 6/1 :- another really competitive looking contest and plenty of proven group class performers on show, will take a classy run to get it won and I think that HOME OF THE BRAVE & BRETON ROCK are the two most solid looking runners, both have the form in the book and the ability to handle the ground. Doncaster 3.00 - MYTHICAL MAGIC win at 9/4 & HEY GAMAN each way at 6/1 :- The Group 2 Champagne Stakes is one of my favourite races on St Leger day as you get to see stars of the future with very smart 2 year olds taking each other and this years field looks pretty good, could end up proving to be a very good one indeed. All runners are respected and there are a handful I could quite easily have backed but my main vote goes to Godolphin's MYTHICAL MAGIC after two classy wins at Ascot & Deauville, I think he sets the standard but I also like the progressive profile of HEY GAMAN who looked very smart when easily winning at Yarmouth and won well last time out, I think those two give me a fair chance against a very good field. Doncaster 3.35 - CAPRI at 4/1, REKINDLING at 10/1 & VENICE BEACH at 12/1 each way - Skybet get thumbs up here for offering each way on first 4, I've been going to the St Leger since I was around 8, that's 32 years, only missed a handful in that time and I can't remember a more wide open looking St Leger to try and solve, so many valid contenders but all seem to have questions to answer, in the end I decided that Irish Derby winner CAPRI sets the standard in terms of proven Group 1 form and he can do well over the trip, REKINDLING is proven winner over the 1 mile 6 furlong trip and should be fine on the ground, VENICE BEACH has carried my money several times because I think he's classy and has it in him to win or go close in something big, think the demands of the St Leger will suit all of those 3 well, fingers crossed. For that race I've also done a fun small stakes combination forecast & tricast bet for some extra greedy fun. 4.10 - RHOSNEIGR win at 3/1 :- I honestly don't have a clue how to pronounce RHOSNEIGR so I will just have to shout "Go on" at the course and hope that works, seriously though I really like the profile of Charlie Hills's runner who has won last two races well and looks progressive, very tight race to call with confidence but I think RHOSNEIGR can prove to be best on the day. 4.45 - Doncaster - BIG BAZ each way at 8/1 & BRONZE ANGEL each way at 18/1 :- I'm really hoping I'm not waiting on this race for my first winner because it's look a real puzzle, Battered will be very popular and will be short, could well win it with a bit to spare but I think he's vulnerable and I'd rather take each way chances on BIG BAZ & BRONZE ANGEL who are both talented on their day and looked well handicapped, they have to find their form again but it's worth risking at the odds.

5.55 Doncaster - GAME STARTER win at Evens :- I'm not sure if I'll still be on course by then but just in case not I've already backed GAMESTARTER as he looks ahead of his rivals and should go in again, he's won last two well and should have more improvement to come, could be a tactical race but he should have the class to cover that. * All Best Odds Guaranteed

Those are the horses I'll be backing on the day at Doncaster in bigger each way & win singles as I save up a budget for when I go racing, as for the blog bets then I've combined the following selections in this way for a fun approach :- 10p each way doubles

5p each way trebles

5p each way 4-folds

5p each way 5-folds

1.50 - Vibrant Chords, Amomentofmadness & Merlin

2.25 - Home Of The Brave & Breton Rock

3.00 - Mythical Magic & Hey Gaman

4.10 - Rhosneigr

5.55 - Game Starter

Total cost = £15.90

for blog also also doing 50p each way singles on REKINDLING & VENICE BEACH at odds quoted with 4 places - total cost = £2 + 10p each way Yankee on HOME OF THE BRAVE, MYTHICAL MAGIC, RHOSNEIGR & GAME STARTER - total cost = £2.20 Total spend for Doncaster blog bets on Saturday = £20.10 All the best and happy punting this weekend.

September 21st September - Gareth Morgan's Canadian + Each Way Accumulator

Gareth Morgan aka @GruffMo on twitter, is really passionate about horse racing and loves studying the form to search out good value selections that offer plenty of interest and usually give followers a very good run for their money. An example of his most recent tipping successes including noting Aidan O'Brien's MUSIC BOX at 10/1 to win at Doncaster last week and she duly did it well, that was a great spot by Gareth and to be fair he'd first highlighted MUSIC BOX on twitter a few months ago, he was well ahead of the game there. I love discussing horse racing with Gareth and I'm delighted to welcome him on board to join in this blog with his own fantastic, detailed thoughts on his bet for Thursday, here are Gareth's thoughts :- The bet I'll be using is a 50p Win Canadian which consists of (x26 bets) = £13.

5 selections needed from Irish and UK horseracing. Those selections are backed upwith a £1 each way 5-fold = £2.

Adding an extra each way accumulator both adds an element of insurance covering the each way part but will also significantly boost returns if all successful, indeed if all 5 win the accumulator will pay roughly the same again as the Canadian will. For that small stake if they all place you should almost always double your stake at the prices I play at. 2 winners needed for a small profit.

Total cost of bet = £15. I think the reason I'm drawn to this bet is I simply like selecting lots of horses and spreading them out throughout the day which allows me to enjoy all the days racing without chasing if one gets beat early doors. It also allows you benefit from form scanning for future races. When time allows there is simply nothing better than sitting down and solving a selected racecard, looking for the vital valued clues that others have possibly missed, more importantly making notes on runners who have shown something in the way of useful form to use in future races. I insist on using a tracker and my results show that sooner or later they all pop up so it's worth the effort. 5 selections for tomorrows cards14.10 Ayr - Magic City - 8/1 Mick Easterby sends two for this £6469 pot Class 4 JH Commercials Handicap (other runner Torrid) Magic City boasts some terrific form winning at class 3 and has previously won off a high mark of 99. To that note he has held his own in class 2s along the way notably being involved in the thick of things. Beaten 3¾ lengths 5th to Storm King over 1m1f, tomorrows drop back in class and to 1m with Harrison Shaw taking off another 7lb the flashing lights are on!

16.20 Ayr - Prying Pandora - 7/1 A competitive affair sees some interesting runners in this 1m2f Class 4 event, last year's winner Adrian Keatley sends Jet Streaming to bring home the bacon. Richard Fahey sends 2 with Liquid Gold daughter of Nathaniel who looks to be all the rage after a last time win albeit in a lower class. However it's the form from Prying Pandora's last run against the progressive Titi Mafki in my opinion has to mean something being narrowly beaten a by a neck.

16.50 Ayr - Frankus - 3/1 (Nap) I have so much admiration for FRANKUS , a big scopey grey colt I love seeing him run and tomorrow he has conditions in his favour. He most definitely wasn't at his best last time and has the class and the stamina to go win this listed £36862 prize for connections. Joe Fannings best chance on the card. Forest Ranger is current favourite who also boasts some decent form but against a much tougher rival in softer conditions I don't see him as effective with the step up in distance. 14.50 Pontefract - Lamloom - 7/1 In what looks a wide open race David O'meara goes on a 2 prong assault (other runner is Dandyleekie Patrick Vaughan claiming 7lb) Philip Making gets the tentive vote on LAMLOON as Dandyleekie wants it a little sharper althought that claim young Patrick takes off is attractive. Hopefully that comment doesn't come back to bite. It's the 10lb Lamloom is eased which draws me in which should bring a about a massive improvement. 16.00 Pontefract - Clon Coulis - 11/4 A very competitive affair with last years winner of this race Kassia for Graham Lee and Mick Channon involved, she would be getting the nod if the ground was faster but it isn't and she holds most of her form on GF so I'm putting my thumb over that one. CLON COULIS however made rapid headway beating Rutherford by 2½ lengths which I have to say rather easily. This is 3yo is going places with ground and distance to suit' Southern Belle imo is the danger. So that is my 5 selections through 2 cards with a quick insight. As always add in a little bit of lady luck and hopefully the profit will follow. Massive thanks to Gareth for those brilliant, detailed thoughts and it's a pleasure to host such fantastic, passionate work.

21st September - Weekend Football Bet - £5 FREE BET Acca

Here we go with this weekend's football bets to give an added interest to what looks to be a cracking set of games throughout all the leagues in England. This particular bet is using a £5 FREE BET achieved by bets placed last week at Doncaster, so good news with this is if the Acca comes off we'll be well in profit, if the acca loses then it won't affect the figures :- The £5 FREE BET AccumulatorWOLVES to beat Barnsley at 4/9
NOTTS COUNTY to beat Lincoln City at 13/8
MANSFIELD to beat Cambridge at 19/20
LUTON to beat Chesterfield at 4/9
CHARLTON to beat Bury at 3/4
 Accumulator odds = 17.69/1
Fully successful Accumulator will pay = £88.45

All 5 teams selected for the accumulator have generally had very solid starts to this league season and all have home advantage this weekend - WOLVES are flying in the Championship and it will be a huge shock if they don't beat struggling Barnsley at home. NOTTS COUNTY are 2nd in League 2 with a great record of 6 wins, 1 draw & just 1 defeat so far in the league and for me they look one of the football bets of the weekend at 13/8 to beat Lincoln City at home, won't be easy but I expect NOTTS COUNTY to just be too strong. MANSFIELD are getting their act & form together in League 2 and they look fairly priced to beat Cambridge at home, CHARLTON should have too much quality at home for Bury who don't travel that well and LUTON definitely should get the points at home against a Chesterfield side who are struggling badly and conceding goals for fun. That's my football bet for the weekend, as I said if it wins then we'll be celebrating, if it loses then we've lost nothing, my kind of betting.

26th September - Midweek Football Multiple Fun

Unfortunately the FREE BET we used to have a fun £5 acca at the weekend didn't turn into anything as we were let down by OXFORD not winning, the other 4 teams won to leave us frustrated, that's Oxford off the Christmas card list!!! We move on though with this fun betting challenge and here's a quick run through the selections in my Midweek Football Multiple, Super Heinz + Acca to give an added interest to what looks to be a cracking set of games throughout all the leagues in England. 5p Super Heinz + £1 accumulator = £7 reminder that a Super Heinz is a multiple bet made up of 7 selections and consisting of 120 bets via a combination of doubles, trebles, 4-folds, 5-fold, 6-folds and a 7-fold accumulator

ASTON VILLA at 19/20 to beat Burton
MIDDLESBROUGH at 10/11 to beat Norwich
BRADFORD CITY at 4/5 to beat Fleetwood
WIGAN at 4/11 to beat Plymouth
MANSFIELD at 6/4 to beat Cheltenham
SCUNTHORPE at 3/4 to beat Gillingham
READING at 13/5 to beat Millwall
all correct 5p Super Heinz will pay = £124.94

All correct accumulator (142.92/1) = £143.92

Total Returns if bet is all correct = £68.86 The midweek fixture admittedly looks really tricky and has a really competitive, hard to call look to it but I like a challenge and I feel the 7 teams I've selected are the right prices to win their matches. ASTON VILLA will be massively boosted by recent wins and they can get another away at Burton, MIDDLESBROUGH are very strong at home and should have too much quality for Norwich, BRADFORD CITY are going well in League 1 and they also look a strong win bet at home against Fleetwood. WIGAN are one of the real short selections of the night but they should be one of the bankers and should be easily to strong at home for a Plymouth side who are really struggling this year. SCUNTHORPE are in good form and will be confident of travelling to a Gillingham side struggling towards the bottom of League 1, MANSFIELD have started to find consistent winning form, they will be boosted by winning on Saturday and they'll be confident of getting another win at Cheltenham, READING away at Millwall is admittedly the final selection and a risky one at that but I think they are playing better than results suggest and have the quality to make their price of 13/5 look big, I think they are worth risking as they definitely have more quality than Millwall, time will tell. Well that's my midweek football multiple and fingers crossed we get just that bit more from Lady Luck and get on the score sheet with a winning bet this week.

27th September - Small stakes & big odds Horse Racing fun bets

Firstly I feel obliged to offer apologies for anybody who followed my midweek football multiple, no other way to describe it than a total disaster, only 2 teams winning from the 7 selected, I honestly can't recall the last time I did so badly with a Super Heinz, no doubting this football season really is baffling me at the moment. Still, the nature of this beast is to have a challenge and try different things, it's about having a fun punt along the way and the plus of keeping the stakes low like I do is that the losses will never be too big to worry about. So to crack on and have a little more fun I'm trying this fun approach at Redcar on Wednesday :- Redcar 4.10 - BRONZE BEAU, JACK LUEY & KIBAAR each way singles + combination forecast 3 x 50p each way singles at 25/1, 33/1 & 25/1 Best Odds Guaranteed with 5 places e/w terms

+ 10p combination forecast = 60p Now one of my real joys with horse racing betting is trying to solve the big runner handicaps by having a few punts at big odds and the 4.10 at Redcar on Wednesday is the perfect race for that, currently 19 runners declared and great bonus is Skybet are offering each way first 5 places if at least 14 run. It doesn't take a genius to work out that my 3 selections BRONZE BEAU, JACK LUEY & KIBAAR need to find form they've not shown for a while given their huge prices but the first 2 are proven course & distance winners while KIBAAR is a distance winner, looking at balance of their form they should all be ok on the ground and can go well if they rekindle some of that form they've shown before BRONZE BEAU is a course & distance winner who won at Redcar this time last year and has won 2 races this year, he's top weight for a reason so he must have some sort of place chance at least, JACK LUEY hasn't won since last year but again he's a proven course & distance winner now back down below his last winning rating so again he's one who can go well at a price. KIBAAR catches my eye as one that's shown flashes of quality at times and now looks interesting going to a new stable, Ruth Carr has produced good results with cast-offs from other yards plenty of times before and it wouldn't surprise me to see a good run from KIBAAR. Again the basic policy is that all 3 have shown previous form that entitles them to have a chance in an open looking handicap, they are big odds so makes it worth the risk with 5 places up for grabs, just 1 of the 3 placing will cover the cost of the bet, that will do for me

29th September - Fun Horse Racing Each Way Lucky 15

It's the Cambridgeshire meeting from Newmarket this week and I'm looking forward to Friday's excellent but seriously competitive looking card, I'm going to risk a small stakes play on the following each way lucky 15 made up with 3 at Newmarket and a sporting pick at Haydock. 10p Each way Lucky 15 + 10p e/w acca : Newmarket 1.50 - ON HER TOES at 10/1

Newmarket 2.25 - ISABEL DE URBINA at 12/1

Newmarket 5.20 - ROTHERWICK at 16/1

Haydock 5.05 - FINN CLASS at 14/1

Best Odds Guaranteed with Skybet

e/w terms are paying first 5 on the 1.50 & 5.20 at Newmarket, also paying 1st 4 in the 5.05 at Haydock As I said the racing from Newmarket & Haydock on Friday is seriously competitive looking so I'm just having a small stakes fun bet, I've followed ON HER TOES most of the season and I believe she has the ability to win a big one this season & I see no reason why she can't run very well, likewise ISABEL DE URBINA who I think has a better chance than the odds dictate, ROTHERWICK is a proven course and distance winner and that should give him a sound each way chance in the 5.20 while FINN CLASS is the one that interests me at Haydock, form figures don't look great but he's one with talent and capable of running a big race at big odds if on a good day

30th September - Weekend Football Multiple Fun

The football multiples posted on here have so far been frustrating and disappointing with the midweek one nothing else apart from a disaster, but we move on and I'm putting my faith in this Super Heinz & Acca this weekend :- TOTTENHAM at 2/5 to beat Huddersfield
ASTON VILLA at 4/11 to beat Bolton
WOLVES at 4/5 to beat Burton
WIGAN at 4/9 to beat Walsall
ARSENAL at 1/4 to beat Brighton
BLACKBURN at 2/5 to beat Gillingham
LUTON at 17/20 to beat Newport
The 7-fold pays around 15/1

A full correct 5p super Heinz will return = £29.30

a fully correct £2 acca (15/1) will return = £32

total potential winnings = £61.30

I won't mess around with too much analysis or detail this weekend, quite simply the odds show that they are strongly fancied teams and they look to have excellent chances of winning, there have been some strange results so far so caution is always noted but the above 7 teams look to have very solid win prospects and I'll be massively disappointed if this bet doesn't go close to collecting the full return.

30th September - 2 big odds each way punts in the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket

The Cambridgeshire at Newmarket is one of the iconic handicaps of the entire flat racing season and this years renewal looks a cracker, it will be the customary cavalry charge with 35 horses spread across the expanses of the Newmarket course. I'm having a fun interest in this great race with a couple of small stakes each way shots with LEADER WRITER & NAVAL WARFARE both at 16/1 and taking advantage of Skybet's great offer of Each way on First 8 places, incredible offer. also going to risk a fun 50p reverse forecast bet, after all it's only a 35 runner handicap so should be straightforward to get the first two home, easy as that!!!

I like the way LEADER WRITER won at Ascot on soft ground last time and he should have more to offer while NAVAL WARFARE has got some decent form in the book, is a proven course winner and should be fine on ground and with the trip, they look fair each way contenders in an admittedly tough race.

THE WEEKEND FOOTBALL SUPER HEINZ & ACCA LANDED!!!

Yes that's right, after a series of frustrating and very disappointing bets, the blog finally delivered a fully correct. profit making bet as Weekend Football Super Heinz & Acca landed giving us a return of £61.44 from just £8 staked That leaves the figures for September overall looking like this :-

Total Stakes = £76.80
Total Returns = £86.86
 P/L = +£10.06
